I FIBROMI PENDULI

The areas most commonly affected by these skin growths are typically those exposed to continuous friction. In particular, individuals with a greater surface area subject to rubbing may develop skin tags more easily than people of normal weight.
They usually appear for the first time around the age of 40–50, affecting both men and women. They are very rarely observed in children and young individuals in general.
In the diagram below, a schematic representation of their typical location.

COLOR
They usually appear in a color similar to the surrounding skin, but they may also be darker (hyperpigmented), sometimes reaching a light brown tone.
SIZE
They may vary in size from 1 mm to 6 mm.
STRUCTURE AND CONSISTENCY
They develop on the epidermis and are attached to it by a thin stalk, narrower than the rest of the lesion. They are soft and flexible in consistency and move back and forth when gentle pressure is applied with the fingertip.
